Instructions for Contributors
I am actively seeking additional locality records for all abalone species.
In oder to keep the quality of the data the highest standard I outline
below the requirement for acceptance of records to this site.
Best
Please provide an image of the specimen, either by e-mail attachment or
by snail mail. Include with it the locality data with as much detail as
possible. Of particular interest is, whether you collected the specimen
yourself, know the collector personally, or obtained the specimen from
some other third party. If the specimen contains the animal, either alcohol
preserved or dried in the shell, please indicate so.
Second
Please send the specimen by mail with the locality data. I guarantee return
of the specimen within two weeks.
Third
Provide detailed differential diagnoses of this specimen to other species,
so that it is clear that the specimen has not been confused with any other
species.
